We are Americans. We are supposed to disagree with each other. Dissent towards the government and the 'party' in power is a healthy and natural part of our free society. These are things I am happy for. This post is to be more for the explanation of certain principle of our culture and the debt we owe to our amazing society in general. This post hasn't been created to attack either 'side' or a group of people. Just an honest mans view of the country he loves.
First, the way that the majority of citizens view the political spectrum is false. They see the Democrats and Progressives on the left and the Republicans and Conservatives on the right. To describe how this is inaccurate is that Democrats and Republicans are both on the right. In this country we don't know what it is like to live on the left side of the political spectrum. Although, many have fled countries that exercise under the far left side of the political spectrum and can tell you about it. If you are a citizen of this country you ought to thank God or whomever you believe in that you were born here rather than somewhere else. You have want for nothing, all of your needs are taken care of and the things we bicker and complain about are luxuries to 80% of the population of the world. This humble person believes it's about time to change our perspective.
The political spectrum is often discussed as having an x axis and a y axis. One dealing with economic politics and the other social politics. I believe in a more purist diagram of the spectrum where they two axis' are combined into one. On the furthest side of the left you have True Totalitarian Society where a dictator or junta( small group of political elite) control every single aspect of the citizens life and society. The dictator or junta control the social and political aspect of every thing in the country; there are no rights and there are no voice of opposition that can be tolerated. The committee or dictator manages education, art, private life, science and even morals of their citizens. The officially proclaimed ideology penetrates into the deepest reaches of societal structure and the totalitarian government seeks to completely control the thoughts and actions of its citizens . Again, I am grateful where I was born.
On the furthest side of the right we have, Total Anarchy. The word anarchy actually means
'absence of a leader' or ' without ruler' to suggest that the most true form of anarchy can be defined as a political system which isn't. A society which has no rule of law and no government in place. Basically a 'do as you please' society with no limits, restrictions or regulations. Although there are disruptions about what anarchy can really mean, it is apparent in the context of its definition that to be without a ruler or governance would elude to complete and total freedom. Economic freedom and social freedom.
So if we have defined the two most extreme examples of governance or lack thereof, then where do find ourselves in our present situation in this country? I think it is obvious after defining the two most extreme political examples that our current leaders are pushing us toward a more controlled type of socialism, although some citizens desire this or believe in this, it is to their own disadvantage, and detriment to our society as a whole. The founders and the constitution are the 'law of the land' and they ought not be violated, as we are currently seeing with the press being spied on by the government, violating the 1st amendments right to free press. There cannot be socialism in America without destruction of the Constitution, the new Affordable Healthcare Act is in direct violation of that constitution, and I don't think anyone will want any part of it once they find out what is in it.
The form of government we are supposed to have in this country is a Federal Republic. This means that if the constitution doesn't specifically underline powers to the federal government then the states have authority over the matter. The states have more power than they exercise. With the limits of a federal republic, they are equally as powerful as the federal government. Which doesn't exactly strike you as the balance we see today.
So study what you believe before you grab you sign and protest. The Democrats in this country are not liberals; they are statist socialists. The Republicans are not conservatives they neo-statist comprimisers. All in all the vast majority of politicians are becoming rich off of being politicians, they do not work for the citizen anymore, they work for lobby groups, most get hired by these lobby groups when they leave office.
So if you truly want to believe in Hope and Change it is time to elect people who honor the Constitution and want to serve the people as statesmen not politicians. A statesmen will listen to their constituents not follow their own agenda or lobbyist groups.
So check where you are born, be grateful for what you have and vote for the suppression of government, not the expansion of government.
I love my country. Oh and just so you know I am not a Democrat, Liberal, Progressive, Republican, Moderate, or Conservative.
I am a Constitutional Libertarian
